Eddie Callahan is a musician of unlimited scope, touching every color of the musical rainbow, from blues to classical. The end result an artistic synergism of this determined and innovative artist.
It's not that Eddie hasn't followed that well worn rock and roll path. From his beginnings in the obligatory San Francisco psychedelic explosion starting in 1964 with his first regional hit recordings, while in the "summer of love" sharing stages with groups such as, The Doors, Janis Joplin (Big Brother and the Holding Company) Bob Marley and the Whalers, Van Morrison with Them, The Gollywogs (Credence Clearwater Revival), Moby Grape, The Buffalo Springfield, The Youngblood's and Eric Burden, just to name a few.
Jamming into the 70's the guitar hero era, Eddie with his band "Mahatma" was once again on the road. Touring from Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada, crossing Canada on into Manhattan Isle, New York, Miami and then off to Europe. Once back home in the bay area Eddie and his band was sharing the stage and concert arenas with artists Bo Diddly, Eddie Money, Neil Young, Steppenwolf, Pablo Cruise, Elvin Bishop, Graham Central Station (Sly and the family stones-Larry Graham) and Tower of Power.
Through all this, guitarist Eddie Callahan's style emerged as a solid rock guitarist and studio musician/ singer songwriter. With countless recordings and studio projects under his belt Eddie is now currently back in the studio working with his wife, Donna-Davi on her children's project" Color Gods World" with scheduled album release in late summer 2011.
Eddie Callahan is a guitarist that confidently displays vision and professionalism. And, Eddie is a performer whose artistic images will continue to reflect musical prisms for a long time. |
